GM HQ: The Grand Entrance
The main entry features a tensile elliptical enclosure using just two steel columns and a roof truss and is one of three distinct architectural scopes on this major renovation. The dramatic, minimal structure uses point supported structural glazing on tension cables. The walls are cable trusses which span roof to floor and then brace longitudinally to vertical cable trusses which are part of the column support.
