China Basin Landing

The architect contracted Novum to design and install three- stepped canopies to span the courtyard between the Wharfside Building and the Berry Street Building. Each portion of the step canopy is identical, with the larger portion sloping back to the Wharfside Building and the smaller portion beneath sloping to both sides. The smaller canopy is suspended by the soffit structure on the Berry Street Building and by hanger pipes from the larger canopy. The stepped canopies add an element of interest to the campus courtyard while protecting visitors from inclement weather.
