Novum was contracted to engineer, furnish and install this impressive air filled pillow roof over Edinburgh Haymarket Station. To achieve the roof covering, which utilized 3 layer ETFE pillows and perimeter drainage, close coordination with the client’s professional team was essential due to the demanding and confined nature of the site space. The pillows were printed with a solar control pattern to reflect the solar energy away from the enclosed distribution space below. The barrel vault shaped main roof allows water to drain quickly to the perimeter edges and insulated access gutters were provided to ensure secure means of access for future maintenance.
